Fate for footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodríguez. The two became parents to a girl – but the twin brother of the newborns died.
Mourning for soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodríguez. As the 2016 European champion announced on his Twitter and Instagram channels, the couple lost their son.
“It is with deep sadness that we have to announce that our little son has passed away,” the statement said. “It is the greatest pain a parent can feel. Only the birth of our little girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
The 28-year-old Spanish-Argentinian model Rodríguez and the 37-year-old soccer player publicly announced last October that they are expecting twins. Their first child together was born in November 2017. The Manchester United pro himself is also the father of three other children.

Further information on the loss of the son and the birth of the daughter are not known. The couple thanked the medical staff for their “expert care and support” and asked for “privacy at this very difficult time”.

In terms of sport, the five-time world footballer of the year made a name for himself with three goals for his team in the 3-2 Premier League win against bottom Norwich City on Saturday.
A success that has now completely faded into the background in view of the loss of the son. “Our little boy, you are our angel. We will always love you,” wrote Ronaldo and Rodríguez just over 48 hours later.
