“Absolute disrespect”: Cristiano Ronaldo shoots sharply at the “Ballon d’Or” initiator

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is pissed off at a statement by “Ballon d’Or” initiator Pascal Ferré. The Manchester United star accuses him of lying and disrespect.
Cristiano Ronaldo has defended himself with harsh criticism against statements by “Ballon d’Or” initiator Pascal Ferré, according to which his main goal in his career is to overtake Lionel Messi in the total number of wins at the prestigious award.
“Pascal Ferré lied, he used my name to advertise himself and the publication he works for. It is unacceptable for the person in charge of awarding such a prestigious award to do so lies, in utter disrespect to someone who has always respected France Football and the Ballon d’Or, “wrote Ronaldo on Instagram.
Ronaldo makes it clear: “I won’t win against anyone”
The editor-in-chief of “France Football” magazine, which traditionally awards the “Ballon d’Or”, had previously claimed that Ronaldo had personally told him how important the award was to him. “Ronaldo has only one goal and that is to finish with more Ballon d’Or wins than Messi. I know because he told me.” said Ferré the “New York Times”.
But Ronaldo does not leave it that way. He does not see personal awards as a status symbol vis-à-vis the competition, but as an appreciation of one’s own performance. “I always want to congratulate those who win, with sportsmanship and fair play, who have shaped my career from the start, and I do it because I am never against anyone. I always win for myself and for the clubs I represent, myself win for me and for those who love me. I don’t win against anyone, “he clarified.
Messi now has seven Ballon d’Or and Ronaldo has five
Ronaldo has won the “Golden Ball” five times so far, and Messi has seven trophies after being awarded on Monday. Given the advancing age of the now 36-year-old, it seems unlikely that he will overtake his long-time rival again.
