Is the crime series “Criminal Minds” coming back? Apparently, a new season is being planned, in which the original stars will also celebrate their comeback.

Two years ago, the last episodes of the crime series “Criminal Minds” were broadcast on CBS. It was the end of an era: after almost 15 years, the series was discontinued. Now there is good news for all fans: Apparently a new season is being planned, how “TV line” and “deadline” to report. Accordingly, the streaming service Paramount + is said to have commissioned a sequel with ten episodes, but this has not yet been confirmed.

These ‘Criminal Minds’ stars are reportedly making a return

Joe Mantegna (74), who embodied David Rossi in the series for years, has already left fan hearts with a tweet beat faster last Wednesday (July 13). One photo shows him with a thumbs up on a film set. “Just doing a small inspection today for an upcoming project,” he wrote. To do this, he used the hashtag “#criminalminds”.

According to “TV Line” and “Deadline” he should return alongside other stars in the new season. They also reportedly include Adam Rodriguez, 47, AJ Cook, 43, Aisha Tyler, 51, Paget Brewster, 53, and Kirsten Vangsness, 50. Matthew Gray Gubler (42) and Daniel Henney (42), on the other hand, should not be part of the game again.

Last year, revival still seemed unlikely

Last year, actress Paget Brewster dashed hopes of a revival of the series. She responded to a fan’s question in July in a tweet: “Unfortunately, we think it’s dead. I’ll let you know if there’s any progress, but it seems unlikely. Which is a shame.”

Tanya Giles, in charge of streaming programming at Paramount Global, was much more positive a few months later. She explained in February according to “TV Line”: “We are still very strong in the development of ‘Criminal Minds’.” The project is “alive” and he is doing “well”.

“Criminal Minds” ended 2020 with the 15th season and a total of 324 episodes. Since then, both fans and the stars of the series have been wanting a comeback.
