A video recorded at an Oktoberfest near Bautzen is causing outrage: Are several people at the celebration giving the Hitler salute? In any case, the police are investigating.

According to a video circulating online, several people were on one At the Oktoberfest in Kubschütz, east of Bautzen, the Hitler salute was presumably shown. A spokesman said the police were made aware of the video via the platform X, formerly known as Twitter. Meanwhile, the criminal police and state security are investigating. The “Bild” newspaper, among others, had previously reported.

In the video, which was presumably recorded at an event in the Zieschütz district, three men and a woman can be seen in traditional costumes who apparently show the Hitler salute several times. The marching song “Erika”, which was popular in the Wehrmacht during the Nazi era, is played in the background. The song itself is not banned.

Last Friday, according to the police, five young people in Chemnitz gave the Hitler salute on the street and chanted “Heil Hitler.” Here too, investigations were initiated on suspicion of using the symbols of unconstitutional organizations.
