The investigator becomes the main suspect in this “crime scene”: Did Moritz Eisner go to a club at night while drunk and get into an argument with the owner? His colleague Bibi Fellner doesn’t believe that.

What’s the matter?

The Viennese club owner Otto Hübner is shot. First, Commissioner Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser) has to investigate without her partner Moritz Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer). He apparently drank a glass or two too many at his birthday party the night before. Did he then go out and look for a fight in the club? The traces at the crime scene and images from the surveillance camera indicate this. Fellner believes in her colleague’s innocence, even when Eisner is arrested.

Why is “Crime Scene: Your Loss” worth it?

Many cases from the ARD series believe that it is not enough to tell an exciting case and bring a social topic into the “Tatort”. This sometimes seems instructive, because many viewers simply expect a well-constructed, gripping crime thriller. That’s exactly what the makers of this film deliver (written by Thomas Christian Eichtinger and Samuel R. Schultschik, directed by Katharina Mückstein) – and do everything with it correct.

What bothers?

The inspector as a suspect: This constellation has already occurred more often in “Tatort”: Charlotte Lindholm, played by Maria Furtwängler, had to defend herself against the accusation of murdering her lover in the Atlantic Hotel at Christmas 2021. The Saarbrücken commissioner Adam Schürk (Daniel Sträßer) has also already been investigated. The Münster residents Thiel and Boerne were both already suspected of murder. So now Moritz Eisner. The problem with these constellations: As a viewer, you actually know beforehand that the investigator is innocent.

The commissioners?

“The way it is, that’s how it should stay”: At the beginning you experience Moritz Eisner and Bibi Fellner in perfect harmony. The inspector has just celebrated his 60th birthday with friends. Now he is sitting on the sofa with his colleague and best friend. Shortly afterwards, their deep friendship is put to the test: Eisner himself gets caught in the crossfire of the investigation.

Turn on or off?

No social debates, no unnecessary subplots: This “crime scene” just wants to tell an exciting criminal case – and it succeeds in doing so masterfully. Tune in.
