Jeanette Hain and Bela Gábor Lenz play mother and son in “Crime Scene: Loss of Control”. The artist gives her own children freedom.
Sculptor Annette Baer (Jeanette Hain, 54) is featured in the “Crime Scene: Loss of Control” (December 26th, 8:15 p.m., the first) to the double murderer because she doesn’t want to lose her son Lucas (Béla Gábor Lenz, 26).
“As authors, we – Sven S. Poser and me – were particularly inspired by the moment when children become young and suddenly close their doors to us parents. When we parents suddenly stay outside, no longer know many things and therefore no longer control them “We have to learn to accept that our children increasingly have their own lives. And trust them. That’s exactly what our character Annette doesn’t manage to do with her son Lucas,” explains screenwriter and director Elke Hauck to the broadcaster about her film.
It is also clear to Hauck that the basic conflict certainly affects many mothers and sons and that no murders result from it. “The film is a kind of fantasy about her resistance. Even as a director, I wasn’t really interested in the realistic side of the story. It was more about playing through moments in which you identify with this mother or find her behavior to be invasive ” she explains further.
Jeanette Hain is a mother of two herself
The invasive artist mother is brilliantly embodied by the Munich actress Jeanette Hain. She is the mother of two children herself, but apparently ticks completely differently, as can be seen from her recent interview with the magazine “Bunte”. “I think it’s important to give others space. You shouldn’t hang on each other’s curtains,” she says, referring to her children Jonas (38) and Malou (17).
When asked about her values in upbringing, Hain further explains: “You shouldn’t see children as your possessions. Of course, I protect my children with all possible means, but they should find out for themselves who they are. I give them respect, care and consideration given on their way.”

Of course, the film’s son Lucas Baer can only dream of that. Bela Gábor Lenz, who was born in Duisburg and lives in Berlin, also does an impressive job in “Crime Scene: Loss of Control”. The actor gained his first Sunday crime experience in Berlin’s Karow/Rubin “Tatort: Wir – Ihr – Sie” (2016).
Many other roles and leading roles in episodes followed, before the most recent “Tatort” he was seen in the RTL+ miniseries “Legend of Wacken”. He has also attracted attention at award ceremonies: in 2019, Lenz was nominated for the Götz George Young Talent Award.
