She was only 15 years old and stood naked in front of the camera: Now Nastassja Kinski wants to have the scenes from the famous “Tatort” episode “Maturity Certificate” from 1977 banned.

The “Tatort” episode “Maturity Certificate” from 1977 is still considered one of the most famous of the public crime series. The film showed Nastassja Kinski, who was only 15 years old at the time, in the role of the student Sina, who is abused for an affair by her teacher, played by Christian Quadflieg. The nude scenes in particular caused a stir: Kinski can be seen topless several times, even without any dramatic reason. The crime thriller helped her and the then unknown director Wolfgang Petersen (“Das Boot”) achieve their breakthrough. The fact that Kinski was still a minor when the scenes were filmed was of no interest at the time.

But now the now 63-year-old wants to have the nude scenes banned. How “Spiegel” reports that her lawyer Christian Schertz has contacted NDR, producer of the episode and rights holder. “Nastassja Kinski was actually unaccompanied on set when the scenes were filmed,” Schertz is quoted as saying. A legally valid consent as a minor is therefore excluded.

NDR praises controversial “crime scene” as a “legend”

Unfortunately, it is hardly surprising that the circumstances surrounding the filming of “Maturity Examination” in the 1970s did not cause any resistance. What is disturbing, however, is how NDR still advertises the infamous “crime scene” today: On the station’s website, Christian Granderath, head of NDR television films, is quoted as saying: “‘Maturity certificate’ with Nastassja Kinski was one in the seventies sexual initiation for many young males. That’s also why this ‘crime scene’ has become a legend.”

The quote is from March 2017, the “MeToo” movement broke out in October 2017. By then it would have become apparent that it was at least morally questionable to sell a minor as a sexual awakening experience for young men. A short-term request from star to the NDR about this has so far remained unanswered. “I really don’t know what went into the heads of those responsible,” Kinski’s lawyer commented on the sentence, according to “Spiegel”.
