They collected millions of dollars in deposits from the alleged sale of mobile homes. Investigators have been on their trail since August. Now they are striking – in several federal states.

As part of a nationwide investigation into an alleged fraud involving motorhome sales worth millions Police searched properties in seven countries and arrested two suspects. The police said on Monday that the focus was on a company based in Rosenheim, Upper Bavaria. The ex-managing director of the company and her boyfriend are said to have received, among other things, large deposits for the sale of mobile homes, but never delivered the vehicles. The 34-year-old and the 61-year-old are therefore in custody.

Six other suspects are also being investigated. Last week, residential addresses, suspected whereabouts of the accused and former company headquarters in Bavaria, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Berlin were searched. The officers seized numerous documents and data carriers. The evaluation will “take some time,” the police said.

The investigation into the case has reportedly been ongoing since August. The investigators estimated the damage caused to be worth millions. However, it is assumed that the number of suspected victims across Germany will continue to rise. Insolvency proceedings have now been opened over the company’s assets. The investigations into fraud and delayed bankruptcy were ongoing.
