The 19-year-old suspect and the young woman had been in a relationship until a few days before the crime, the police announced on Friday. The “Kieler Nachrichten” had previously reported.

The 17-year-old died on October 18th after an accident. She was sitting in a car with the 19-year-old, who is said to have stabbed her with a knife while driving. The car collided with another at an intersection near the New Town Hall. Two men sitting in the other car were also slightly injured. The young woman died on the way to the hospital.

According to police findings, the 17-year-old, who was accompanied by a man, fled after an argument in the suspect’s apartment. While her companion fled on foot, the 17-year-old took refuge in a friend’s car parked in front of the house. The 19-year-old is said to have forced the driver to get out and drove off with the 17-year-old in the car against her will.

The suspect is in custody on suspicion of manslaughter. According to police, he admitted to the stabbing while driving. However, he denied any intention to kill. According to earlier information from senior public prosecutor Michael Bimler, the man then planned to drive the victim to the hospital.
