During the night several shots were fired in two communities in Lower Saxony. Four people die – including a child.

After a 32-year-old Bundeswehr soldier allegedly killed four people in the Rotenburg district of Lower Saxony (Wümme), a Molotov cocktail was found in the suspect’s car. One can only speculate as to why the Molotov cocktail was in the car, said the spokesman for the Rotenburg police station.

According to the authorities’ current knowledge, the Bundeswehr soldier is said to have shot four people in the communities of Scheeßel and Bothel on Friday night, including a child. The background was initially unknown.

The police spokesman gave further details about the arrest of the suspect: The soldier drove to the barracks in the city of Rotenburg (Wümme). He parked his car in front of the barracks, got out, walked to the station and identified himself. The police were called and arrested the suspected perpetrator.
