Before massacres in Maine, there were warnings about the perpetrator

A brutal act of violence in the state of Maine shocked the USA. As it now turns out, the alleged perpetrator was no stranger to the police. But no one stopped him.

Months before the violent act, there were several warnings from those around the shooter. This is according to a statement from the Sagadahoc County Police Department.
Accordingly, the family of 40-year-old reserve soldier Robert C. contacted the police at the beginning of May to draw attention to a deterioration in his mental condition. “They were concerned for his welfare and said he had access to firearms,” it said.
The police then contacted the military unit and advised the man to receive medical care. In September, at the instigation of the military unit, officials tried several times to visit the man at his home without success – and at that time they also issued a search notice to other authorities in order to track him down. There were then further contacts with the military and their families.
The Washington Post wrote that local police also received a letter in September saying that a soldier serving with Robert C. in the Army Reserves believed he was “going to freak out” and cause a massacre could.
The man opened fire at a recreation center and a barbecue restaurant in Lewiston, Maine, last week. 18 people between the ages of 14 and 76 were killed by gunfire. The shooter escaped and his trail was initially lost in the wooded surroundings. The police searched for the man with a large number and finally found his body in a trailer two days later. According to investigators, he committed suicide after his crime. According to reports, he had been undergoing psychiatric treatment for weeks and was said to have imagined that he was hearing voices.
