A nurse is found guilty of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder six others. It is the worst spate of child murders in Britain in recent history.

The British ex-nurse Lucy Letby, convicted of multiple baby murders, is said to be in prison for the rest of her life, according to the prosecution. Prosecutor Nicholas Johnson called on Monday to sentence the 33-year-old to the maximum sentence. About a dozen relatives of the victims were present at the announcement on Monday, the British news agency PA reported from the courtroom.
