A man is said to have escaped from a psychiatric center on Friday and killed a woman shortly afterwards. Where he is housed now.

After a fatal one The 33-year-old suspected of the knife attack on a woman in Wiesloch in Baden-Württemberg was taken back to a psychiatric hospital. A police spokesman was unable to say on Sunday whether it was the same one from which he fled before the alleged crime on Friday.

Instead of an arrest warrant, a judge issued a so-called detention order against the man on Saturday. This is done when someone has probably committed an unlawful act in a state of incapacity or reduced culpability and is to be placed in a psychiatric hospital or a rehabilitation center – instead of in a prison.

The man is said to have escaped from the Nordbaden Psychiatric Center in Wiesloch on Friday. In a shop in the city center he is said to have injured a 30-year-old so badly that she died in hospital.
