An English plumber made a shocking discovery while renovating a 200-year-old country house in Devon.
When Jonathan Betts tore up the bathroom floor, the repairman found 20 bones in the dirt. After Betts got the bones out of the ground, he wanted to know where they came from.
It turned out: they are pork bones. There used to be slaughterhouses near the house.
Former owners of the house had probably buried the bones to “drive away evil spirits.” At the request of the current homeowner, Betts buried the bones again.
