Crab cakes with homemade aioli: ingeniously delicious finger food

Meatballs with a difference: crab meat is used for American crab cakes like those from Maine. Together with a delicious dip, the meatballs are simply unbeatably delicious. Here’s the recipe.

How about delicious crab cakes instead of the classic meatballs at the next party? The typical American patties with crabmeat are also really tasty as a light dinner or appetizer.

In the American state of Maine, where crab cakes are particularly popular and almost famous, the meat of Jonah crabs or rock crabs is mainly used. In Germany you can often find crab meat in cans, but you can also get it from fishmongers. Alternatively, you can also use boiled deep-sea shrimp without the shell for the recipe.
