What should apply at the EU borders in the future?
The digital EU Covid certificate has been available since summer 2021. However, it was only one element in the entry rules so far. For example, countries of origin are divided into risk categories depending on the incidence, for which different strict regulations apply. In the future, however, the certificate for travel in the EU should be more important than the infection process in the country of departure. The EU states have agreed that it should no longer be decisive where a trip starts from and what the incidence is there – but whether there is valid proof of vaccination, convalescence or a test.
