The Standing Conference has published statistics on the corona cases registered in schools. Due to the holidays, however, no figures were available from some countries.

According to current figures from the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK), there were recently around 23,000 known corona cases among schoolchildren at schools in Germany.

As can be seen from the regular statistics of the KMK on the corona situation in schools, around 54,000 students were also in quarantine last week. The basis is feedback from the federal states from almost 24,000 general education schools and vocational schools with around 8.5 million students.

In total there are around 11 million pupils at around 40,000 schools and vocational schools in Germany. For the past week, however, no figures were available from Baden-Württemberg, for example, because there were holidays in the southwest at that time. In addition, the federal states do not receive feedback from all schools.

The statistics also show around 1800 corona cases among teachers and around 1100 quarantine cases. This is based on information on 741,000 teachers. According to a recently published Forsa survey, 95 percent of teachers in Germany were fully vaccinated by the end of September.
