A problem has been brewing in the Frankfurt police force for five years, and many had hoped that a process would finally uncover and work through it. Because so far, with every turn this thing took, everything just got worse. First there was the threat to a Frankfurt lawyer by a right-wing extremist who called himself NSU 2.0 and announced that she would rip off her little daughter’s head. Then it came out that the private address of this lawyer (who had represented NSU victims) had been illegally queried at the 1st police station in Frankfurt. The next thing that came to light was that half a dozen police officers from the station had a chat in which they exchanged inhuman, Nazi-glorifying images. The public prosecutor’s office took four years to bring charges against the police officers. And now, at a low point, the Frankfurt Regional Court has rejected a main hearing.
