Couple fears they won’t be able to get pregnant – then they have quintuplets

Watch the video: Couple fears they won’t be able to get pregnant – then they have quintuplets.

Hannah and Jacob Merton from the US state of Ohio have one big dream: they want to be parents.

23-year-old Hannah is afraid she won’t be able to conceive, so the young couple start fertility treatment.

Finally, the pregnancy test in October 2019 is positive.

The two are actually having offspring! And not just one child, but five.

Multiple births are more common due to fertility treatments.

The little ones have to be delivered in the 25th week of pregnancy because the doctors are worried about their condition.

The five are named: Philomena, Evangelina, Meredith, Gideon and Elliot.

However, not all babies survive preterm birth.

Meredith died in the hospital three days later from a brain hemorrhage.

And Gideon is hospitalized long after birth with a collapsed lung.

It wasn’t until a year later that all the siblings really got to know each other at home.

“Having a lot of kids is really crazy and can be scary too. I have my hands full and at the same time my heart is full of love.” -Hannah vs. SWNS

The family is now celebrating the children’s second birthday.

Despite the chaotic everyday life, Hannah and Jacob would not want to change anything.

They might even envision another child in the future.
