Coupe de France – Paris FC – OL incidents: the two clubs declared losers and eliminated

After the violent incidents that erupted last December 17 during the 32nd-finals of the Coupe de France meeting between OL and PFC, the Disciplinary Commission of the FFF, meeting this Monday, ruled, and it did not give details: the meeting between the two clubs, stopped at half-time, will not resume. Paris FC and Lyon both lost the match by penalty, which should therefore allow OGC Nice to validate its ticket for the round of 16 without having to play.

Sentenced to fines (10,000 euros for the PFC and 52,000 euros for the OL), the two clubs were targeted by other sanctions: the Ile-de-France team was suspended 5 matches from the field in its Charléty stadium. Lyon, which had already announced that it would suspend all travel for its supporters since the incidents, sees its visitor parking lot closed until the end of the season. In addition, the Gones will have to reimburse the costs of repairing damaged stands.

The stands ruined everything again: the moment that led to the end of the match

The Rhone club, struggling in Ligue 1, since it only points to thirteenth place at the break, and which will therefore not be able to count on the Cup to bounce back, was also sanctioned with a suspended exclusion from the next editing. In the event of new similar incidents involving the Lyon club, they will not play in the 2022/2023 Coupe de France.
