Coupe de France, 32nd final – OGC Nice beats Auxerre on penalties, Marcin Bulka decisive

The Aiglons reach the end of the suspense. Nice won on penalties against Auxerre on Saturday in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France (0-0, 4-2 tab). Dominant throughout the match despite a starting eleven largely reshuffled due to absences, the Aiglons lacked realism against the excellent Auxerre goalkeeper Théo De Percin. Little used, the Riviera goalkeeper Marcin Bulka took over at the very end of the match and then during the fateful session. Unlike last season, the Gym will be there for the round of 16.

This duel between the 2nd in Ligue 1 and the 2nd in Ligue 2 promised to be close because the list of withdrawals was long for Nice. Dante, Jean-Clair Todibo, Melvin Bard, Romain Perraud, Khéphren Thuram, Morgan Sanson and Jérémie Boga were all missing. Coach Francesco Farioli had to rely on Antoine Mendy and Ayoub Amraoui, both 19 years old, to accompany Youssouf Ndayishimiye in central defense in a new 3-4-3.

De Percin disgusted the Aiglons

The holders, however, perfectly respected the playing principles of their Italian coach and it almost quickly paid off. Launched on the right, Terem Moffi nevertheless came up against De Percin and the young left piston Tom Louchet missed the wide open target in the process (3rd). The Burgundian goalkeeper also stood up to Pablo Rosario (16th), then released a superb tap to deflect a new attempt from Moffi (32nd).
