ProSieben is puzzling again: The celebrity masquerade is entering a new round. A well-known pop singer is the first costumed singer to be eliminated.
In the end, Ebstein received the fewest votes from viewers on the music show and had to remove the okapi head. It was the opening show of the ninth season and had some new features. Unlike previous years, this time all costumes were only presented in the first live show. There was also a change in the advice team. Singer Alvaro Soler is now a permanent member alongside presenter Ruth Moschner, who regularly demonstrates her good ear for celebrity voices on the show. Journalist and actor Jenke von Wilmsdorff was there as a guest at the start of the season.
Ebstein as the preferred candidate
Even though Moschner had often mentioned Katja Ebstein as a preferred candidate for the show in the past, she didn’t find out about her now. Instead, she assumed it was the singer Amanda Lear in the okapi’s colorful patterned dress. Soler and von Wilmsdorff chose the actress and singer Elke Sommer. She could have known, Moschner said angrily afterwards. “The beautiful, slender legs.”
In the show, celebrities appear as singers but hide their identities behind elaborate costumes. They only take off their masks when they either receive too few votes or end up winning the season. The new edition features, among others, a bright red fire extinguisher, an ice princess and a bearded character named Klaus Claus, who was introduced as “Santa Claus’ half-brother.”
This time, the second edition will exceptionally run on a Sunday instead of a Saturday evening, namely on November 26th. On Saturday, November 25th, Thomas Gottschalk will host “Wetten,dass..?” for the last time.
