The 16th jungle camp season is currently in full swing. Cosimo has now accidentally exposed the fact that not everything is real in the popular RTL show. Because he knocked over a potted plant in the camp.

Murwillumbah, Australia – Almost 20 years have passed since January 9, 2004 when the very first group of celebs descended on the jungle camp has moved in. In the meantime, dozens of well-known guests have faced the tests, insects and arguments with fellow campaigners that make the notorious RTL format so legendary. The broadcaster is currently showing the 16th jungle edition – which celebrates its grand finale on January 29th and chooses one of the brave stars as the winner.

Reality hit in the deepest jungle? A lot is fake in the jungle camp

For most viewers, the highlights in the jungle camp are likely to be the tough challenges that have pushed many a celebrity to their limits, or the everyday drama between the belligerent stars. But the jungle set on Australia’s Gold Coast isn’t always hectic and explosive – there are also emotional moments in which the Jungle Camp Candidates as authentic as never before, met with a great response from the fans. Despite these heartwarming scenes, not everything at the camp is as real as it seems.

that in Jungle camp is already helped a lot and the show isn’t actually filmed in the depths of the Australian jungle isn’t a particularly big secret. After all, it would be risky to actually abandon twelve celebrities in the middle of nowhere with poisonous animals lurking around every corner. Apparently, RTL still wants to keep up appearances – all the more embarrassing when the carefully thought-out deception is accidentally exposed.

Where is the “jungle camp” really filmed?

Since the first jungle camp episode flickered across the screens on January 9, 2004, the broadcaster has often been accused of not filming the format in a real jungle. Although it does appear on television that the belligerent celebrities are sitting in the shade of palm trees, dozens of kilometers from civilization, it’s not quite that extreme. Because “I’m a Celebrity” is filmed on a farm near the town of Murwillumbah, which is in the Australian region of New South Wales. The international versions of the show, such as the British “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”, also use the site. So it’s not the deepest jungle, but neither is a TV set with artificial trees.

“Stars are maltreated far too little”: Jungle camp fans complain about the fake set

You have to look closely, but in episode 8 of the current jungle camp season, the jungle illusion bursts for a split second. After passing the jungle test, Cosimo Citiolo (41), Gigi Birofio (23) and Claudia Effenberg (54) dance with joy in a circle and jump around a bit too wildly. Because the “Checker vom Neckar”, as Cosimo calls himself, bumps into a palm tree that is slowly tipping over – and for a millisecond you can see the pot in which the plant is stuck.

Cosimo’s palm mistake is a bit embarrassing, but the fans are visibly amused, if only a little surprised. “It has long been known that additional plants are placed where there are few,” writes a Facebook user, “The alleged ‘stars’ are maltreated far too little for their money,” another seems to criticize the fake jungle. A user can’t resist a joke about nature lover Jana Pallaske (43), who had to leave the camp on day 12: “The waterfall is artificial, the pool, stones, plants, everything is art. Jana felt connected to the elemental power of nature.”

It doesn’t matter whether it’s a real jungle full of poisonous snakes or just a TV set – delicious entertainment is always guaranteed in the jungle camp. And the dangers of the Australian jungle cannot be escaped at the Murwillumbah facility either. Then after a jungle camp alarm, RTL had to intervene.
