Siemens and corruption have been a very delicate connection since that big affair 17 years ago at the latest. Because what began in autumn 2006 with a major raid on the Munich offices of the group and then gradually came to light, shook the traditional group to the core at the time: Between the mid-90s and mid-2000s there were bribes totaling 1.3 Billions of euros have been distributed to business partners and government employees around the world in order to get orders and outperform competitors such as the US group General Electric in procurement processes.
