RKI reports 5578 new infections – incidence at 30.1

The seven-day incidence continues to rise. According to the Robert Koch Institute in the morning, it was 30.1 – the previous day the value was 27.6, a week ago it was 20.4. The health authorities in Germany last reported 5578 new infections to the RKI within one day. A week ago, the value for Germany was 3448 infections. According to the new information, 19 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 24 deaths. The RKI has counted 3,810,641 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Paralympic Games in Tokyo with no spectators

The Paralympic Games from August 24th in Tokyo will mostly take place without spectators. The organizers agree on a spectator limit similar to that of the Olympic Games, as the capital is still in lockdown due to the increasing corona infections.
