Lauterbach encourages new federal-state round on Corona

SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach has suggested a new federal-state round to partially tighten the corona rules. “It would make sense for the Prime Ministers to meet the Chancellor again as soon as possible,” Lauterbach told the newspapers of the Funke media group. “There are a lot of decisions to be made in the pandemic – from the corona rules to the booster vaccinations. We must not lose track of the situation during the coalition negotiations,” he said, referring to the talks on the formation of a government. The pandemic will be over in late spring 2022 if no more dangerous virus variant occurs. “But we will have a difficult winter if we do not achieve the necessary vaccination quota.” Therefore, the protective measures could not be terminated significantly. From his point of view, it is sometimes even about tightening.

US accepts WHO-approved vaccines for international visitors

International guests are allowed to travel to the US again if they have been vaccinated with vaccines approved by the US FDA or the World Health Organization. “Six vaccines that are approved and approved by the FDA, or listed by the WHO for emergencies, meet the criteria for travel to the United States,” said a spokeswoman for the CDC. The approved vaccines are the vaccines from Pfizer and BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Sinopharm and Sinovac. On September 20, the White House announced that the US would lift travel restrictions on fully vaccinated air travelers from 33 countries, including Germany, China and India, in November.
