Coronavirus in the Munich district – Incidence continues to rise – Munich district

Just a few days ago, District Administrator Christoph Göbel (CSU) made it clear how serious the situation is. The fourth wave is currently hitting the district with “full force”, said Göbel, and called on people who were still unvaccinated to get vaccinated against the corona virus. Even more: The district administrator spoke out in favor of a nationwide vaccination requirement. The figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) underline Göbel’s concern. The seven-day incidence climbed to 223.9 on Sunday, after being 171.0 on Friday. As of Sunday, a total of 783 people were demonstrably infected with the virus within seven days in the district.

This now also has consequences for the fight against pandemics. The yellow level has been in effect at the Corona traffic light since Sunday. This means that the FFP2 mask will once again become the regular standard in almost all areas of public life; the previous rules only continue to apply in schools: a cloth mask is sufficient for primary school students, and medical mouth and nose protection in all other schools. The so-called 3G-plus rule now applies to cultural or sporting events; People who have not been vaccinated can only get access with a current PCR test, which must not be older than 48 hours. In addition, the previously applicable simplifications with regard to masks, distance or personal limits are no longer applicable. Universities, including the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Neubiberg and the locations in Garching and Martinsried, as well as educational offers for basic, advanced and advanced training, libraries and archives are excluded from this new restriction. Only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered have access to clubs, discos and brothels.

How dramatic the situation is at the moment can be seen from the number of cases in the region. On Sunday, the seven-day incidence in the neighboring district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen was 537.4, in Ebersberg it was 480.9 and in Erding it was 263.5. In the south-east of Bavaria, as in the Traunstein district, values even beyond the 700 mark are achieved. The Corona traffic light in the Free State is not far from jumping to red anyway. As of Saturday, 552 people were in intensive care units because of Covid-19 disease; Level red applies if more than 600 people need to be treated there.
