Actually, the most important music prizes in the world should have been awarded in Los Angeles at the end of the month. But Corona does not allow the show for the time being.

The award of the Grammy music prizes has been postponed due to the rapid spread of the highly infectious omicron variant of the coronavirus.

There are too many risks to host the show on January 31, the Recording Academy in Los Angeles announced on Wednesday. The 64th award ceremony will take place at a later date. A new date will be announced soon.

The nominations were announced in November. US musician Jon Batiste (“We Are”) is a favorite for the Grammy Awards with eleven nominations. They are followed by singer Justin Bieber (“Peaches”), rapper Doja Cat (“Kiss Me More”) and singer-songwriter HER (“Fight For You”), each with eight nominations. The pop singers Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo can raise their hopes in seven of the 86 Grammy categories.

Around 13,000 members of the Recording Academy decide on the winners of the Grammys, which are among the most coveted music prizes in the world.
