Small talk, little tears and excited grandchildren
King Charles III greets royal fans just a day before his coronation.

In an appearance shortly before his coronation, King Charles III. obviously in a good mood. Meanwhile, his grandchildren are very excited.
Even before the coronation ceremony on May 6, thousands of people have gathered along the route of two planned processions. King Charles III (74) surprised the onlookers on the boulevard “The Mall” to chat and shake hands with some of them in a good mood before his big day.
The short meeting was “very emotional” for 70-year-old Joan, as she told “MailOnline”.. “He purposefully leaned forward, shook my hand and it was just so beautiful,” enthuses the royal fan. “I’m proud to be here today, […] I burst into tears afterwards.”
Also, 21-year-old friends Abigail and Millie were impressed according to the “Sun”.. “We congratulated him and he asked: ‘Are you here tomorrow, did you camp last night?’ Then he said: ‘I hope you didn’t get too wet when it rained.’ And then he just laughed. It was amazing and really surreal,” says Abigail. For Millie, the brief exchange was “exciting and quite overwhelming.” Charles was “very friendly”.
Charles’ grandchildren are already excited
His eldest son, Prince William (40), did not miss the opportunity to greet those present with his wife, Princess Kate (41). A brief conversation Kate’s is seen in an excerpt from the “BBC”.. In it, she gives an insight into the emotional world of the royals before the big event.
Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5), the children of William and Kate, are doing very well. “They’re excited, a little bit nervous,” explains Kate. Of course, tomorrow, Saturday, is also a big day for them. “Everything is fine” with her and her husband. They are currently a bit like swans – relatively calm on the outside, but agitated on the inside. And Kate is sure that Charles is also looking forward to his coronation.
First on Saturday there will be a procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, where the ceremony will take place. King Charles III then travels by carriage. and his wife, Queen Camilla (75), in an even more lavish procession back to the palace. More than 6,000 women and men from the British armed forces are expected to take part in the celebrations. It is the largest ceremonial military operation in 70 years.
