Exit restrictions were in place in Turkey for more than half a year, and people can now go outside again on weekends and at night. Music may only be played in bars or other facilities until midnight. The Turkish Society for Respiratory Research warned against the easing against the background of the spread of the Delta variant. The number of people allowed should be limited, especially for closed rooms, it said.

EM: Scotland has 2000 new infections
The Scottish health authorities have reported around 2000 new corona cases in connection with the European Football Championship. Tourists in France are due to pay for tests from July 7th

Tourism is losing trillions worldwide
The slow corona vaccination campaigns in many countries are ruining a rapid recovery in many tourist regions. Poor countries are particularly affected, as reported by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad) and the UN Tourism Organization (UNWTO). In the past year, the direct and indirect consequences of the slump in tourism have reduced gross domestic product – the production of goods and services after deducting all intermediate consumption – by an estimated 2.4 trillion dollars (around two trillion euros) worldwide. According to the UNWTO, there were around a billion fewer tourists traveling internationally than in the previous year, a drop of 73 percent.
Also this year, compared to 2019, a minus of 1.7 to 2.4 trillion dollars is to be feared – especially if the vaccination rate does not pick up quickly in countries with low incomes. Accordingly, these countries suffered the most, while the recovery is faster in rich countries with high vaccination rates, such as the EU and the USA. According to the organizations, however, as many tourists will be traveling internationally again in 2023 at the earliest as before the pandemic. Many countries have not yet lifted their travel restrictions.
The World Health Organization (WHO) speaks of vaccination nationalism in rich countries and moral failure. Some governments have bought a large part of the scarce vaccine instead of joining a solidarity distribution around the world. While in some places young healthy people are already being vaccinated, nurses in other countries put their lives at risk every day in the care of corona sufferers without having been vaccinated themselves.
India approves Moderna vaccine
India approved Moderna’s vaccine. The country has given a local company import approval for the US manufacturer’s vaccine, said the head of the Indian Covid task force, Vinod Kumar Paul, at a press conference in New Delhi.
Moderna is the fourth vaccine approved in India. Thailand tightened measures
