The organizers in New York announced on Twitter that the performance of the Broadway play “Plaza Suite” planned for the evening was canceled. “Everyone wishes Matthew and Sarah Jessica a speedy recovery,” it said.
A corona test at Broderick was positive on Tuesday, while Parker initially tested negative. She stayed on stage, Broderick was replaced by a replacement.
“Plaza Suite”, by the US playwright Neil Simon (1927-2018), was performed for the first time at the Hudson Theater with Broderick and Parker at the end of February. The couple is slated to appear in the Broadway production eight times a week through the end of June.
Parker and Broderick appeared together in a variety of plays throughout the 1990s, including a 1995 revival of the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The couple has been married since 1997 and has three children.
