With around 1000 officials, the police in Munich were involved in protests against the state corona measures and also had to use “immediate coercion”.

According to the police, around 3,000 people protested against the state corona measures in downtown Munich on Wednesday evening.

According to a spokesman, the police have meanwhile blocked the transition from Marienplatz to Kaufingerstraße. Several groups of protesters wanted to run together from Marienplatz through the pedestrian zone to Karlsplatz / Stachus. That was prevented by a chain of police officers. There have been isolated attempts to break the chain. The police had to use “immediate coercion”, that is, pushing and pushing with the help of a baton. The police were on duty with around 1,000 officers.

In other Bavarian municipalities, opponents of the Corona measures had also called for so-called walks as a sign of protest. Around 400 corona protesters gathered in Würzburg, and around 120 participants took part in the counter-demonstration by the Green Youth. According to the police, around 1000 people came together in Fürth for a registered meeting under the motto “Health on your own responsibility”.

According to the police, around 1,600 opponents of the corona measures demonstrated on Wednesday evening in Wolgast in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The organizers themselves assumed a significantly higher number of participants for the registered demonstration.
