Stiko-Chef: Booster recommendation planned for 18+
According to its chairman Thomas Mertens, the Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) plans to recommend the Corona booster vaccinations for all people over the age of 18 in the future. In the ZDF program “Markus Lanz”, Mertens said that they would be advised again today and that it would not be long before the recommendation came. It should “proceed as far as possible according to decreasing age”. So far, the panel of experts has recommended the so-called booster vaccinations for people over 70 who received a second vaccination at least six months ago. Even people with immunodeficiency, residents of care facilities as well as staff in medical facilities and nursing staff should have their vaccination refreshed according to the Stiko.

Braunschweig: As of today, 2G compulsory in many indoor spaces
The 2G rule has been in effect in many places in Braunschweig since today. Mayor Thorsten Kornblum (SPD) justifies this with the rapidly increasing number of infections in the city. “We have to do it now if we want to keep our health system efficient and not want to do without popular traditional events such as the Christmas market,” he said, according to a statement from the city. The regulation applies in restaurants, discos, clubs, bars, theaters and cinemas as well as in indoor areas of fitness studios, swimming pools, museums, zoos, botanical gardens and amusement parks. Only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered can also take part in all meetings with more than 25 people.

Expansion of the 2G rules in Hamburg: companies want clarity
The expansion of the 2G rules in Hamburg from Saturday onwards did not come as a surprise. According to NDR 90.3, however, many catering establishments still need information during implementation. According to the Dehoga Association, you actually need your own strength just to control the guests. For hotels, for example, it is impossible to inquire about the vaccination status of all arriving guests by the weekend. In order to be able to cater for them anyway, they asked the economic authorities for an exemption. Bar operators demanded clarity about which exceptions apply to unvaccinated people and which certificates they can accept. The Chamber of Crafts criticized the different rules for hairdressing salons and cosmetic studios.

SH: Günther informs about further corona measures
Schleswig-Holstein is also facing stricter measures in the fight against the corona virus. Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) wants to inform about the next steps today in Kiel together with his deputies Monika Heinold (Greens) and Heiner Garg (FDP). Schleswig-Holstein has the lowest seven-day incidence of all federal states, but here too the number of infections has recently risen significantly. The incidence value had risen to over 100 yesterday.
Günther had already announced new decisions on Thursday last week. For example, the so-called 2G rule could be introduced for indoor events from the end of the month. That would mean that only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered would have access. NDR.de will broadcast the press conference live from 11.30 a.m.

In Rostock and Western Pomerania-Rügen, the 2G rule applies from today
In the districts of Western Pomerania-Rügen and Rostock, new corona restrictions apply from today. A 2G rule applies, among other things, in indoor catering, at events, trade fairs and in cultural and leisure facilities – only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered have access there. It is also recommended to wear a mask in public if a distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained, it is said. The two districts were marked orange on the risk-weighted level map of the State Office for Health and Social Affairs for three days in a row because of their infection and hospitalization situation. As a result, according to the Corona state ordinance, the new rules come into force in the middle of the week.
