Corona: Israel vaccinates older people for the fourth time

Because of the rapid spread of the omicron variant of the coronavirus, people over the age of 60 are said to be given a fourth dose of vaccine in Israel. A panel of experts from the Israeli government also recommended that health care workers be vaccinated for the fourth time. Prime Minister Naftali Bennet called on the population to accept the vaccination offer. According to his office, he instructed the health insurance companies to prepare for another broad vaccination campaign. This will help “overcome the omicron wave that is flooding the world,” said Bennett. So far there have been at least 340 detected omicron infections in Israel. Israel carried out one of the fastest vaccination campaigns against Corona in the world and was the first country in the summer to start giving fully vaccinated boosters. The country has already passed the fourth corona wave. Recently, however, the number of infections rose again.
