Corona in the district of Ebersberg: stronger virus load in the wastewater – Ebersberg

The seven-day incidence in the Ebersberg district is still stable at almost 200, but according to forecasts by experts, this could change again soon: the results of the wastewater tests for the corona virus showed at the three sampled locations – Ebersberg, Grafing, Glonn – well a relatively sharp increase in the virus concentration in the wastewater. Although the result of measurements was not repeated two days later, due to the precipitation on August 31, a strong dilution effect can be assumed for the sampling on September 1, which leads to low biomarker concentrations, according to the evaluating scientists, according to a press release of the district office.

They also emphasize that it is noticeable that at the end of August significantly higher values were recorded again. It could be the beginning of the wave of returnees, which experience has shown must be assumed. This in turn leads to an increased number of infected people – the autumn wave. However, compared to previous years, the situation is somewhat different this year, since Omicron and its subvariants have an on average much shorter incubation period than Delta or the previous variants.

Probably because of the “holiday effect”, the incidences are currently still relatively low. Nevertheless, the scientists advise protecting yourself against infection with FFP2 masks, even if the mask requirement is currently relaxed.
