The laborious laboratory test at the State Office for Health and Food Safety can take four weeks or more, according to the District Office. The index case is in isolation with mild symptoms. A contact is in quarantine. According to the authority, the infection probably took place within Germany, but outside the district.
There is also other bad news about Corona: Four more deaths in connection with an infection have been reported to the health department. The deceased were born in the 1930s and 1940s. Two of them died at the end of October and two at the beginning of December. The number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic has risen to 212. 30 patients with Covid-19 disease are currently being treated at the Ebersberg district clinic. 27 come from the district. Nine corona patients are cared for in the intensive care unit, eight have to be ventilated. Ten of the patients are not vaccinated, 20 are. The vaccinations for children started successfully on Wednesday. Almost 130 children between the ages of five and eleven received the first dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center in Ebersberg and the branch in Poing.
