Corona in Oberschleißheim: ventilation devices for schools – Munich district

The two schools in Oberschleißheim are to be equipped with permanently installed ventilation devices in the classrooms in the coming year. According to the unanimous decision of the municipal council, the funding applications will be submitted for this year so that the systems can be installed in 2022. In the classrooms of the Berglwaldschule 19 fans will be installed, in those of the elementary school in Parkiedlung 24. Costs of around 1.5 million euros are expected, of which just under one million euros will come from state funds.

Before the first winter of the pandemic, the local council debated mobile air filters, but rejected them as ineffective. In the second year of the pandemic, the ventilation systems permanently installed in the classrooms were discussed, which were finally targeted after several rounds of consultations. Because the state funding program is limited to 2021, the application has now been rushed. Seven weeks after the decision in principle, the specific funding application and the assumption of the necessary personal contribution have now been decided.

According to the investigations, 14 devices can be installed on the ceilings of the newly renovated primary school in the park settlement, which means that the classroom is less restrictive. However, for technical and structural reasons, these ceiling devices cannot be installed everywhere, so that floor-standing devices are set up in another ten classrooms. According to the study, hanging up is categorically excluded in the Berglwald School, which is why all 19 devices will be in the rooms here.
