On January 27th, exactly two years ago, Michael Seilmaier was on background duty in his ward, the infectiology department at the Munich Clinic Schwabing. A detail he will never forget. Because the one call that Seilmaier received from the Tropical Institute of the LMU Clinic changed his everyday work and that of thousands of colleagues throughout Germany. With him came the first corona patient, an employee of the auto supplier Webasto from the Starnberg district, to Schwabing – and thus for the first time to a hospital ward in this country.
