Corona: has the wave broken? – Politics

In Germany, the lockdown for unvaccinated people has begun. After a long hesitation, the federal and state governments cleared the way for new corona measures on Thursday, most of which affect people who have not yet been vaccinated. There are also restrictions on major events and clubs. But even before the decision was made, the fourth wave showed signs of weakening. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has been reporting incidences of around 440 new infections within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants, a plateau seems to have been reached. Do the measures that have just been decided still need to be implemented?
