Corona at Bayern: Kimmich has to be quarantined again – sport

Joshua Kimmich from record champions FC Bayern Munich apparently has to be quarantined again as an unvaccinated contact person for a corona infected person. Several media reported unanimously on Friday. The club initially did not confirm the cause a few hours before the Bundesliga game at FC Augsburg on Friday (8.30 p.m.). National player Kimmich would not only miss the derby at FCA, but also the Champions League group game at Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday (6.45 p.m. / both Dazn).

On Thursday, Kimmich, who has so far refused to be vaccinated against Covid 19, was not present at the final training session. A “pure precaution,” said coach Julian Nagelsmann. Kimmich had recently already missed the international matches against Liechtenstein and in Armenia as the contact person for teammate Niklas Süle who had tested positive and had only returned from quarantine at the beginning of the week.

In addition to Süle, defender Josip Stanisic is currently also out at Bayern after a positive corona test. Süle and Stanisic are double vaccinated.

Only “maximum 25 percent” viewers at Bayern home games

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) has decided on a “de facto lockdown for unvaccinated people” for Bavaria and will also tighten measures for sport due to the worsening corona situation. For example, the utilization of stadiums and halls at sporting events such as the games of the German record champions Bayern Munich is to be limited to “a maximum of 25 percent”, and the 2GPlus rule applies to spectators.

Those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered must then also show a current negative corona test. The measures should be decided on Tuesday in the state parliament and apply until December 15.
