Cordless secateurs in a reduced offer for 20 euros

Spring is just around the corner and with it the time to take care of the garden again. Hobby gardeners can currently find two-in-one secateurs on Ebay for just under 20 euros. How well does the deal perform?

March 1st is the meteorological start of spring and then the time to bring the garden into shape slowly begins. One of the first tasks is trimming bushes and hedges. A helpful tool for this is currently 75 percent off on Ebay – a battery-powered secateurs from Scheppach. Instead of 80 euros (RRP), it is currently available for just under 20 euros.

Two-in-one secateurs with battery for 20 euros

The battery-operated two-in-one shears from Scheppach come with an 80 millimeter (mm) wide grass knife and a shrub knife with a length of 120 mm. The knives can be conveniently replaced without additional tools. Thanks to an ergonomic handle and a manageable weight of just under 850 grams, working with the device remains comfortable, even if it takes a long time. The shaving head can also be rotated to get into difficult places.

  • Battery-operated two-in-one secateurs (grass and shrub shears)
  • 19.99 euros instead of 79.90 euros
  • 120 mm long shrub shears
  • 80mm wide grass shears
  • Battery charging time: 60 minutes

If you have a meter-long hedge around your garden, the Scheppach device is not an equivalent replacement for a large hedge trimmer. However, it is well suited for smaller jobs or short cutting corrections. The grass shears have a comfortable width for working on the edges of the lawn. Pruning shrubs on the balcony is also easy without cables and with a battery. For just under 20 euros, you get a five-year guarantee from the manufacturer – all in all a great deal, because it’s currently not available cheaper anywhere else.

For larger jobs: Parkside hedge trimmer at Lidl

Anyone who has bordered their garden or the entire property with a hedge will quickly reach their limits with the Scheppach scissors. This requires a larger device. Maybe what Lidl currently has on offer: the Parkside electric hedge trimmer PHS 650 A1 is currently ten percent cheaper there. With a cutting length of 700 mm, the Parkside scissors can process significantly more area in a shorter time than with the Scheppach device. The size is also noticeable in terms of weight: at four and a half kilograms, the hedge trimmer is still comparatively light, so your arm doesn’t go weak shortly after you start working. There is no battery here, so sockets and extension cables should be within reach.
