A “GAN” print on canvas, which showed the “Portrait of Edmond de Belamy” in an ancient look, was the starting signal for AI-generated works in the art scene. In 2018 it was auctioned off at Christie’s for $432,500. Such developments can have significant consequences for lawyers.
