The world climate conference is currently taking place in Dubai – in an oil state of all places. The protest group Extinction Rebellion denounces this.

The protest group Extinction Rebellion protested against the World Climate Conference in Dubai with several actions in Berlin over the weekend. Today activists were dressed as flight attendants on the Berlin subway. The group had previously criticized the use and promotion of fossil energies with projections on house walls in Kreuzberg. Among other things, a large dinosaur was shown.

“We denounce a climate conference taking place in an oil state and hosted by the oil lobby,” the group said. “The conference is now a greenwashing event by politicians and lobbyists.” The conference with tens of thousands of participants runs until December 12th in Dubai.
