The recipe box mail order company Hellofresh closed 2021 with a surge in sales despite the headwind from reopening restaurants. In the current year, however, the group expects a slower development. Last year, sales increased by a little more than 60 percent to almost six billion euros, as the Dax group announced. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization adjusted for special effects increased by around four percent to 528 million euros. Management intends to stick to its investment course. In this way, further countries and brands are to be developed. Hellofresh was recently launched in Norway, Italy and Japan and expanded its product portfolio to include ready-to-eat meals with Factor, among other things. In the first year of Corona, the company benefited from the fact that restaurants remained closed and people spent significantly more time at home due to restrictions on going out.
