Controlled at Orly airport with 23 kg of cocaine, a Nantes woman in detention

She was indicted, in particular for importation in an organized gang and drug trafficking. A 22-year-old young woman, resident of the Nantes suburbs, was placed in pre-trial detention after being arrested at Orly airport on Tuesday, Rennes public prosecutor Philippe Astruc reported on Saturday. She returned from the Dominican Republic with a suitcase containing more than 23 kg of cocaine.

Three men were also indicted and imprisoned. The first, driving a Jaguar and aged 41, had “come to pick up the “mule” at the airport”, indicates the prosecutor. Another, who was to transport the goods to Brittany, is 47 years old and comes from Brest. The last alleged accomplice, a 29-year-old from Nantes, was to participate in this transport “as an opening vehicle”, specifies the prosecutor, while the Créteil public prosecutor’s office relinquished the case for that of Jirs (jurisdiction specialized interregional) of Rennes.

The public prosecutor specifies that one of the members of the network is “already well known to the justice system, having been convicted on multiple occasions for drug trafficking, including a six-year sentence”. The other three have no criminal record. All face the penalty of 30 years of criminal imprisonment.
