Kevin Trapp is very hesitant to respond to Eintracht Frankfurt’s contract offer. The reason: the design of this paper.
The starting position is clear: Eintracht Frankfurt would like to be able to rely on Kevin Trapp in the coming years. The keeper has had the corresponding contract offer for a while – and yet he is very hesitant about it.
Kevin Trapp moved to Frankfurt in the summer of 2012. Apart from a few years in the service of Paris Saint-Germain, he has been guarding the SGE gate ever since. He could break the 300 competitive game mark for the club this season.
For Eintracht it is clear that this successful relationship should continue in the years to come. There is no talk of thoughts about a potential successor. At the age of 32, Trapp still has one or two seasons ahead of him in which he will continue to be able to perform very well. It is logical that the club would like to benefit from this beyond the fixed end of his contract in 2024.
However, not at any price. Trapp already has a contract offer. Even “for a long time”, as the picture formulated.
Trapp doesn’t like the lower basic salary: performance-related funds make him hesitant
The crux: The SBU would like to agree on a lower basic salary and instead pay more for performance. So about success bonuses, such as for games without conceding a goal or similar goalkeeper criteria.

So it won’t be easy for Frankfurt to cheer Trapp on a working paper that extends beyond 2024 – despite the successful past few years. It seems as if the Bundesliga club would have to continue improving their basic salary in order to have realistic chances. Too much risk should not be taken, after all, there are well-known interested parties in the goalkeeper. That was already shown in the past transfer summer.
