Consulate General of Ukraine in Munich: Great rush since the Ukraine war – Munich

Since the outbreak of war, the Ukrainian consulate general in Munich has hardly been able to keep up with work. The number of people registered here has increased more than tenfold, and there are long queues in front of the building almost every day.

Friday afternoon, just before 2 p.m.: A few dozen people crowd the steps and front door of the circular building. Some are holding slips of paper in transparent film with numbers and QR codes on them. In front, a woman shouts something in Ukrainian over the crowd. There is a waiting list, a piece of paper written on both sides with a ballpoint pen. Newcomers press it against the glass of the front door with one hand and write their name in the line below with the other.
