Conservative cabaret by Gruber, Schleich or Nuhr: About the division of the scene – Munich

Monika Gruber also mobilizes the right edge for the demo, Helmut Schleich provokes with blackfacing and Dieter Nuhr worries that one is no longer allowed to say everything. A conservative cabaret was unthinkable for a long time. That has changed fundamentally.

The fact that cabaret artists take part in demos is not new. From “move with me, choose Schmidt” to the protests against the NATO upgrade decision to the legendary chain of lights in Munich, cabaret artists often joined in. Some careers even started like this: Matthias Deutschmann, for example, was driven by the anti-nuclear movement in the early 1970s to “bring political feelings into the public eye using satirical means,” as he once put it.
