In order to explore the spot where a bomb from World War II is suspected, around 8,100 people have to leave their homes in Hanover on Sunday. Where can you spend the day?

Because of a possible bomb disposal, around 8,100 people in Hanover have to leave their homes on Sunday. After soil probing in the Hanover-Sahlkamp area, four ordnance from the Second World War had been suspected there. However, in the meantime, further investigations have shown that there is only one suspicious point, the fire brigade announced on Friday evening.

An evacuation radius of 1000 meters is required to finally explore this point and defuse the suspected ordnance. The exclusion zone will apply from 9 a.m. on Sunday and is expected to last until later part of the day, it said. Residents are therefore asked to take everything they absolutely need with them, such as medication, baby or special food, and appropriate clothing.

A care center is to be set up in the sports halls of the Herschel School Gymnasium, to which special buses will drive.
