What applies now from autumn?

Misunderstanding in the Corona compromise by Justice Minister Marco Buschmann (45, FDP) and Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (59, SPD)!

One thing is clear: from October, the federal states should be able to arrange FFP2 masks in publicly accessible interiors – as well as in restaurants, bars, cinemas and stadiums. Alternatively, negative tests, proof of recovery or proof of vaccination (3G rule) can be requested.

Lauterbach and Buschmann gave the impression that the restrictions would definitely come. Buschmann spoke of “general precautions” due to the extended mask requirement.

Lauterbach announced for the period from October that “there will always be a mask requirement in publicly accessible interiors. That there are exceptions in the bars and restaurants that you can be newly vaccinated or recovered.”

According to the draft law, however, this is subject to conditions. SPD parliamentary group leader and legal expert Dirk Wiese (39): “There is no automatic obligation to wear masks in winter.”

The countries would have the option of ordering this – but depending on the regional threat situation: “The countries must be able to prove that otherwise a large number of people would become seriously ill and that the health system and critical infrastructure would be seriously overburdened. We don’t need that as of now, but it’s important to be able to act if the situation changes.”

How the situation is to be assessed is then up to the discretion of each individual federal state.
